Being out of RC since the roughly the year 2000, I picked up an ECX smash one day on a spontaneous stop at a hobby shop. I was told by the RC guy at the shop that the ECX Smash was well worth the $80 and would be a great choice for an inexpensive vehicle. I got it home and found it to be SEVERELY under powered with just the included 4.8v of the 4 AA cells.
