I've been tracking quadcopters for a while now, wanting to buy one, but not wanting to fiddle, nor spend a lot of money. This one, ready to fly at $86, fits the bill. Bought the first one, ignored the instructions on taking your time to learn how to control it, flied too high, and crashed it. Fell upside down on one of the props, and busted the commutator out the end of the motor. Fortunately, spare parts are available from [...] so I can fix it. But even in those first few minutes I realized that this product is a winner, so I bought another one. Have 30 minutes (total) of flying time so far, and I'm getting to where I can control its flight reliably. Took it outside and didn't lose it into a tree. :-)
Now, the downsides. The binding process (between transmitter and receiver) is NOT well documented. It's simple, but not written down clearly. You need to 1) turn on the transmitter with the throttle at zero, 2) *immediately* plug in the receiver. The transmitter will beep,...
